Abstract

결론
1. 2%와 5% glutaraldehyde 실험군의 경우 염증정도에 큰 차이가 없었다.
2. 10% glutaraldehyde 실험군의 1일 조직 소견은 2%, 5% glutaraldehyde 실험군보다 심
한 염증반응을 보였으나, 1주 2주 및 4주 조직소견에서는 큰 차이가 없었다.
3. 1:5 희석 formocresol 실험군의 경우 타군에 비하여 1일, 1주, 2주 및 4주 조직 소견에서
매우 심한 염증소견을 보였다.
4. Glutaraldehyde 실험군간의 염증정도가 별다른 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 미루어, 현재
임상에서 적정 농도로 추천되는 2%의 사용에 의문이 제기되며 보다 고농도의 임상적용이
고려될 가능성을 시사하고 있다.

Tissue irritation potential of several pulpotomy medicaments(2, 5, 10% glutaraldehyde
and 1 : 5 diluted formocresol) during various time intervals(1, 7, 14, 28 days) in sixteen
Sprague-Dawley rats were evaluated histologically under light microscope.
No significant differences in the degree of irritation could be found between 2, 5, and
10% glutaraldehyde groups, except 1 day-10% glutaraldehyde group which showed
higher inflammatory response than other 1 day-glutaraldehyde groups.
Specimens of 1 : 5 diluted formocresol groups were shown to be highly irritating to
connective tissues in general and the inflammatory responses persisted through out the
whole test periods.
From the results of the present study, the clinical application of 2% glutaraldehyde
being recommended as an adequate concentration might be reconsidered and the possible
use of higher concentration could be thought.
